Folk Herbalism: A Bioregional Perspective with April Coburn

July 16, 2016 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

Please join us for a class on plant medicine with our friend and teacher, April Coburn.  Many of us in the community have studied with her at her beautiful home in Pennsylvania, but she’s taking her wisdom on the road!

From April:
Humans have a long history of working with medicinal plants. Only in the last couple generations have we moved away from relying on the healing plants for everyday health and well-being. Reclaiming this knowledge is like coming home. Caring for ourselves and our families with herbs we grow and gather ourselves is extremely empowering.  In this class we will discuss the importance in keeping folk herbalism alive in our communities, and the benefits of bioregional herbalism in particular. We’ll talk about cultivating, harvesting and preserving some of the most versatile and useful medicinal plants. And we will also make a plant medicine together for everyone to bring home.

What to bring:

  • Your lunch (plus extra, if you like—there will be food to share).
  • Note-taking materials.
