Introduction to Wicca
Every Tuesday, February 26 - April 29, 2008 - 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Herne's Hollow - Seelie Court - North of Georgetown, DE
Coven of the Rowan Star is please to announce a ten-week series covering some of the basic philosophies, beliefs, and practices of Wicca. We will be focusing particularly on our own Tradition, the Assembly of the Sacred Wheel. There will be 8 workshops and two rituals, every Tuesday beginning on February 26th. Participants may arrive at 6:30 p.m. for some social time.
The topics that will be covered include the Elements, the Eight Holidays, Cycles of the Moon, Ritual Design, Gods and Goddess, creation of Sacred Space, and Psychic Development. The second ritual will be a celebration of Beltaine.
Pre-registration is required. The cost for the entire series is $75. Single classes may be attended at a cost of $10 each. Attendance of at least three of the four classes before each ritual is required to attend the ritual. Directions and additional instructions will be provided upon registration. Assembly of the Sacred Wheel
The Assembly of the Sacred Wheel is Coven of the Rowan Star's Tradition. As a group, the seven covens of the Tradition put on a variety of open events during the year. Please check their upcoming events page.
Ivo Dominguez, Jr.
Ivo Dominguez, Jr. is an Elder of our Tradition, the Assembly of the Sacred Wheel. He presents a number of workshops throughout the year for the public. Many of the members of Rowan Star attend these workshops as well, so it can be an excellent opportunity to get to know some of the Coveners while at the same time learning more about Wicca, Magick, and Spirituality. It also gives an chance to see a little deeper into the philosophy behind our Coven. For more information concerning these workshops, please visit Ivo's personal website. In addition, Ivo is one of the owners of Bell, Book & Candle, a metaphysical shop in Dover, DE, which hosts a variety of open workshops and rituals.
Sweat Lodge
Several of the coveners are involved with Sweat Lodge. In fact, our High Priest is a trained Water Pourer and has been leading sweat ceremonies since 1995. We are involved with the publicly offered sweat lodges at Seelie Court, 102 acres of wooded land in Southern Delaware under the stewardship of several members of the Assembly of the Sacred Wheel.
