Devotion. Movement. Chanting. The sacred is with us, here, now, in manifest form. We see it in the trees, hear it in the water, catch its scent on the wind, feel it in the sun on our skin. The sacred is with us, in manifest form. We begin with the breath. Then our feet tap out a rhythm. Our bodies start to sway. Together we dance. Together, we shall pray. Together, we will sing, sway, stomp and move in the orbits of the planets turning around the sun. We will connect our divine nature to the nature of divinity.

Movement and music have been used in cultures throughout time as ways to connect with the divine in many forms. In this most basic of human ritual, profound change can occur within us as we link to the flow of All.

During her time with the Mevlevi Dervishes, Thorn was taught to access sacred movements to bring the whole being into a state of prayer and connection. She has taken this experience – along with many years studying ritual arts, magical practice, and different forms of dance and martial arts – and developed a working that includes the whole practitioner with the opening of power and the possibility of ecstasy.

You need not be a dancer to participate. All are welcome, regardless of physical ability. This workshop is helpful to those wishing techniques to revitalize their group rituals, and for those who seek a different way to pray.

Please bring a journal, a cup, and either smooth, leather soled shoes or slippery socks ( a pair of nylon over a pair of cotton works well) and wear either a full skirt or comfortable trousers.

* Cost is $60 – $90 sliding scale. Those who register at $90 help subsidize those who register at $60. Share the love!
